An Arabian nights or an Arabian party theme is supposed to create a sense of mystique and intrigue surrounding thieves, princes, princess, kings and queens.
You need to try and create an aura of the Moroccan desert at night. So definitely throw your party in the late evening and also at the beach would be a great idea. If not, then your back garden should suffice.
The biggest and best feature for your Arabian party theme would be the Bedouin tent. You can rent them, they come in all shapes and sizes and will be an awesome venue for your party.
For your costume you could dress up like Aladdin or Jasmine. Think slinky harem pants, pointed slippers and turbans. Gold bracelets and jewelry for the ladies. Or as a thematic alternative go for a king, queen, prince, princess or thief.
Get plenty of Arabian style rugs and cushions and spread them around the floor. Your guests should ideally be sitting on the floor, there should be no chairs so make the place comfortable. Any tables should be as low down as possible. Get some candles and patio lanterns to light your tent or venue.
Some added extras which are dependant on your budget would be that you could hire a belly dancer, fire eater, snake charmer, hena artist or fortune teller. Also try and get a goat; tie it up to a post outside your tent.
For the food, you should be looking at some traditional middle eastern dishes. Your party should ideally be eating while sitting on the floor, so keep the food on platters kept on the floor and let everybody dive in.
In Arabia, it is traditional before eating to bathe your fingers in scented water. For this, simply put a few drops of essential oil in a bowl of water.
