The on/off button for craps is available in a small 1.25 inch wafer style button that is about 1/8 of an inch thick. This button is used to indicate the intentions of individual players. There is also much larger on/off puck that is 3 inches in diameter, over ? inch thick, and has two rubber o-ring bumpers. This is typically used by the dealer to indicate the point number, which was rolled in the come-out round.
If it is “Off” then the game is in the come-out round.
If a player wishes to place a bet that a particular point, other than the current point, will be rolled before a 7 is rolled, then the buy bet is placed. This bet is marked by using the Buy side of the Buy/Lay button. To mark a bet with opposite intentions, that is; the 7 will be rolled before a particular point, the Lay side will be used to mark the respective point. This is called a lay bet. The Buy/Lay button is a very important part of the game of craps.
